1985
Barrie Trim & Mouldings Inc. was founded in 1985 and remains family owned and operated by second generation. We have been servicing Barrie and surrounding area since 1985 with a goal in mind to provide customers with exceptional service, and offer high quality interior finishing products, including trim, interior doors, stairs, railings, and hardware.
Barrie Trim opened its doors in May to a small retail shop on Bell Farm Road in Barrie, Ontario. Placing the first trim order with Royal Woodworking. A company we still have a great relationship with.
1992
Taking a large risk, Barrie Trim decided to relocate and built a 15,000-sq.-ft. building in the south end of Barrie, facing Highway 400. At this time there were minimal businesses in this area, but the prime highway frontage was a key deciding factor to build in the area. A larger location allowed room for growth to include production of Prehung Doors and broaden our service area.
1995
Barrie Trim introduced its small, but adequate Stair Department. It gave builders and the public the opportunity to purchase doors, trim, and mouldings, along with stairs and railings, all under one roof.
2003
With the next generation becoming actively involved in the family business, Barrie Trim embraced a refreshed brand identity, including a new logo and a renewed focus on business growth. These strategic updates signal the company’s commitment to growth and innovation, positioning Barrie Trim for continued success as it takes the business to the next level.
2007
As space became increasingly limited, Barrie Trim expanded once again by adding an additional 6,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the rear of the existing building. This expansion provided much-needed room to accommodate the growing stair division, as well as the pre-hung door and trim areas.
2010
To commemorate its 25th anniversary, Barrie Trim is excited to unveil its newly designed website. This milestone marks not only a quarter-century of delivering exceptional products and services but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the company. A heartfelt thank you to all our dedicated team members, loyal customers, and suppliers who have contributed to our success over the years. Here's to 25 years of great business, and many more to come!
2012
As BTM continues to grow, so does our need for space! In 2012, we experienced another year of expansion, which included moving our Stair Manufacturing operations to a separate facility. This strategic move has freed up valuable space, allowing us to further develop both our Prehung Door division and our rapidly growing Stair Division.
2014
BTM’s founding partner, Brian Whitaker, has officially retired! Business has been sold to next generation and is now under the leadership of his son, Lee Whitaker. The company remains proudly family-owned, continuing its legacy with a fresh perspective.
